Talamantez Therapy (“we,” “us,” or “our practice”) operates this website to share information about our therapy and educational services and to let visitors get in touch with us. This policy explains what information we collect through the site, why, and what you can do about it. It covers this website only — it does not describe how we handle protected health information for clients in active treatment, which is governed separately by our clinical intake paperwork and applicable law, not by this website.
Contact form
This site includes a contact form (built with Jetpack Forms) that asks for your name (optional), email address, a subject line, and a message. When you submit the form, that information is stored in our WordPress database and emailed to the practice so we can respond to you. We use it only to reply to your inquiry — we do not add you to a marketing or mailing list, and we do not sell or share your submission with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Please don’t use this form to send sensitive health information. The contact form is a general inquiry tool, not a secure clinical intake form and not a crisis or emergency channel. If you are a current or prospective client with health details to share, please wait until we’ve connected by phone or in a session, or use the secure paperwork our practice provides directly. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, please call 911 or the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline instead of using this form.
Comments
Our blog allows visitors to leave comments (powered by Jetpack Comments). When you leave a comment, we collect the content of the comment along with your name, email address, and website (if provided), plus a browser-generated string (a “hash”) that can be used to verify your Gravatar profile picture is legitimate, if you use one. Your IP address and browser user-agent string are also collected to help detect spam. An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to check whether you are using it. Comments and their metadata are retained indefinitely so we can recognize and approve follow-up comments automatically, rather than holding every comment for manual moderation.
Spam protection (Akismet)
Contact form submissions and blog comments on this site are screened by Akismet, an anti-spam service provided by Automattic. Akismet reviews certain submission data (such as content, sender information, and IP address) to determine whether a submission is likely spam. You can review Akismet’s privacy practices at automattic.com/privacy.
Hosting, analytics, and cookies
This site is hosted on WordPress.com and uses Jetpack, a suite of tools provided by Automattic, for site security, backups, and aggregate visitor statistics (for example, how many people visited a page). These stats are viewed in aggregate and are not used to identify individual visitors. If you leave a comment on the site, a cookie may be set to remember your name, email address, and website in case you comment again — this is for your convenience and expires after about a year. WordPress.com and Jetpack may also set cookies needed for the site’s basic security and functionality.
Embedded content from other websites
Some pages on this site include embedded content — for example, a YouTube video on our Speaking Information page, or links to episodes hosted on Libsyn (our podcast host). Embedded content from another website behaves exactly as if you visited that website directly. These outside sites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction if you have an account and are logged in to that website. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of YouTube, Libsyn, and any other site whose content is embedded here.
How long we keep your data
Contact form submissions and blog comments are retained in our WordPress database indefinitely, so we can refer back to past inquiries and maintain the comment history on our blog. We do not currently have an automated deletion schedule for this data, but you may request deletion at any time as described below.
Your rights
If you’ve submitted the contact form or left a comment on this site, you can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing bryna@talamanteztherapy.com. We will respond to reasonable requests within a reasonable time. We do not sell personal data collected through this website.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time as our website or the tools it uses change. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update.
